What's Happening at The Guild:
We're back! After a three month planning period, and a much needed rest for our hard working Board of Governors, the Guild will be opening the 2000-2001 Season on October 13th with Ronald Harwood's "INTERPRETERS". This is a dramatic comedy about the eternal confrontation between East and West. When the play originally opened in London, the critics hailed it as "witty, literate and the most sensetive love story of the year." Don't miss this crackling season opener directed by Catherine Hopkins and starring Guild veterans Teresita Mans, Robin Busse, Brenden O'Regan, Rosario Barrera, Ron Leggiere and Manny Velez.
Hard on the heels of "INTERPRETERS" is the Guild's December 1-3 production of "A CHRISTMAS CAROL". with an ensamble cast of well known actors from Panama's professional theater community, including many talented students from the International School and the Balboa Academy. Don't miss any of the fun! Call 212-0600 for reservations.
Changing of the Guard
Our new Board of governors was elected on June 4 and a decission was passed unanimously last month to sell some tickets in advance. As a result, we will no longer have assigned seating at the Guild. This will ease a lot of the last-minute preassures for the box office volunteers. So please, remember to arrive early to insure that you get your favorite seats.
Back Stage News
After three years of submitting pictures of the Ancon Playhouse to the Balboa Union Church's Calendar Committee. Gale Cellucci got smart and had a professional event photographer, Grover Matheney, take a picture of the Guild. Now, it will be featured in the 2001 Calendar ($5.00). Call Patricia at 314-1004, Mon. - Fri. between 9 and 12 p.m. if you would like to reserve a copy.
